Both need contracts so that would be something that could affect their values but the difference between Anderson and Domi is more then a 2nd.

Habs weren't going to pay Domi $6mm to play behind Suzuki, Danault, and KK at center.
Anderson doesn't have much of an arbitration case. I could see both him and the team agreeing on a reasonable number. Which makes Anderson more valuable to the Canadiens than Domi would be. Losing the 3rd rounder is basically harmless given how many other picks we have in this year's draft. That we had to pay that much is likely a function of what other offers Jarmo had from other teams.

Net, net...i'm good with what Bergevin paid. This trade clearly makes the Habs better.
