Description
Killer-There are too many teams that are not on that 16 team no trade list that still have their 2nd rd pick. Killer is exactly what the avs need in a solid middle 6 wing, LW being a plus, letting Bura slide over to the RW. Not only is he a boost for secondary scoring, he can boost the PK as well. Although, I believe the problem is in coaching/system not personnel. Hopefully, Bednar is looking at different assistants. Sakic knows he has to drop the 1st to get him, so trade down with Ottawa or DET. Joe still gives up the lowest pick beating out the other 14 teams, pulling a 2nd for our selves, OTT walks away with 4 firsts this year for the rebuild and Tampa gets basically a first back.

Byram- Stays in Europe for the season to further his development. He is beyond Juniors, but he is not ready for the NHL. Next season its on.

The Avs had one of the Top five 5v5 D corps in the league, why mess with it. Just bring in a better #7. Don't think CC is the right one but put him in to show getting an under performer on a redemption type prove it deal, preferably a RD. I don't see Timmins making it this year ether. Skill wise he makes it but his bruised up noggin holds him back. We are stuck with Cole for another year. I like what Z brings to the Avs and I hope they don't trade him. They probably will since he is over paid for his current role.

They are already going to have cap issues after this upcoming season. There are cheaper, maybe a little less effective, options than Hall.

TB says yes, we will miss him. Getting a very good player. He is a power forward, plays 200 foot game, plays PK PP, will put up 40 plus points every year, leader in the locker room and has missed 5 games in 5 years. He is not a 30 goal scorer but should be close to 20. .

This isn't bad and you gotta do what you gotta do to win but I feel like trading that first is maybe not the best idea right now unless you get a bit more in the Killorn deal or, maybe, make it next year's first. Otherwise, you could package the 3rd with a decent prospect. I've been going back-and-forth with a guy on another thread about Killorn's value but I can't see paying, essentially, a first for a 31 y/o middle-six guy though he does bring a lot of things to the table aside from scoring. It might be worth it.

The durability and playing in all situations is key. It's also good that he's defensively responsible. He's got a lot of intangibles that make him attractive to a team like the Avs and coming off a SC win, that's super important to have a leader that knows what that's like.
