Ah, yeah, I can see that. Not really sure about the market on Defensive D right now. Sharks could use one though...

I second @SevenLeg's opinion -- I think DeMelo gets at least $3 million for 4 or 5 years. Defensive RDs are in demand this year. I've been signing him to my SoCal teams for $3.75 x 4.

Maybe add the 1.3 in cap space plus extra $$ potentially retained in Dubnyk wild deal to DeMelo's salary and tack on a couple years. DeMelo 3 years @ about 3 mil. This team healthy could make some noise IMO
