I love trading Lindell right now.
I could be wrong but I think placing Johns on LTIR creates problems later with regards to player call ups and bonuses.

I personally view Cogliano as more than a salary dump. He a very good penalty killer and shutdown forward. After more thought Detroit probably isn’t the team that needs or would pay for that though

But from Detroit's point of view he is a cap dump. Detroit already has Helm and Glendening who play the role you just described.

Very fair. Updated the trade to Ottawa instead as they have more to build on and could use the leadership
