Russia is so overrated it's crazy. US should be 2nd IMO, the rivalry between CAN and the US is only getting better it seems

To all the "know it all" cretin hockey fans out there that are mad to see USA at fifth is a joke. They are ranked sixth in the IIHF rankings so this is a generous boost to Americans putting them at fifth.

How about the fact that 30% of NHL is from USA and 30% is from all of Europe?

IIHF is based on World Championship and Olympics. Best American players play in NHL....did not participate in Olympics, and only some go to Worlds. It is not a ranking that anyone pays any attention to.

IIHF ranking is not meant to rank countries in order of quality. IT IS USED FOR TOURNAMENT SEEDING.

How do you think competitions work bud? Teams bring their best quality players into the tournament to form a team and compete in which is measuring the quality of their players and team. Go get educated
