What’s the compensation for helping Tampa with Johnson... we aren’t just taking 5 mil for free...

He's still a good player imo. If we can get a pick out of it or they retain a little that would be great

    Thoughts on Marchessault?

Yeah.... but You don’t just go helping other teams without some kind of favor.... Johnson is a cap dump to them. Exploit that.

I feel like there's going to be be at least one other team putting in a claim for him. He probably doesn't make it through waivers. You wouldn't put a claim?

I’d put a claim in if Tampa were to convince me to take him in a trade for someone for future considerations (well in this case past considerations of taking Johnson). No one is going to do any favors for free. Tampa is screwed and everyone knows it...

Idk.... Johnson isn’t that good.... he’s kinda shown that he needs good players around him to make him successful and he didn’t do anything in Tampa’s playoff run, plus we have Jenner and Grigorenko to fill 3rd line center for much cheaper.... I wouldn’t be taking Johnson unless Tampa is paying.

I mean if a team can afford him I think they should take him especially a team that's trying to go far into the playoffs. You can expose him for Seattle anyways and isn't the point to ice the best team possible rather than maximizing returns. No one cares about the ridiculous Coleman and Goodrow trades anymore since they won the cup but the team was ridiculed during the trade deadline. I'm biased cause I want him off the cap but just saying

I’d like some draft capital from both Tampa and Vegas, but I don’t mind this
