Description

Look, Subban on the top pair could bring him back to his former self. Playing on a bad NJ team absolutely contributed to his very poor year. The way I see it, he’s slightly more expensive than JVR, he’s free for Seattle to take, and he’s a year less than JVR too. With all of the young talent the Flyers have up front, with the Niskanen retirement, they need a top RHD and it’s not like JVR is a difference maker as a F where he’d be sorely missed. The Devils need more forwards anyways and it helps that JVR is from NJ. Fletcher failed to sign a Niskanen replacement during FA, so perhaps a trade would be best. Subban was once a top defensemen in the league and has the experience to play top minutes. He’s a great guy too and would probably love to do some good in Philadelphia. Just a thought.

It's a good idea. Adding a perennial 25 goal guy could help NJ's offense, and they have other defensemen who can get points without going into their own end. But it's also possible NJ would like some Ghost with that.

I understand the sentiment, but I really hope they don't do this. I don't think Subban will age any more gracefully and could end up being a bottom-5 contract in hockey over the next two seasons
