This is never gonna happen, the Leafs will not trade Nylander to a division/conference rival

It is ridiculous like the Schmidt trade was as well. That was the point of Toronto’s cap issue. Nylander is reportedly being shopped

So because we saw one dumb deal, the Leafs will trade a future star (yes star) for crap? Not a chance, besides they are cap compliant right now and they can make some smaller trades to get space. I would love to trade a big ticket for some serious return, but this not it...at all.

I mean seriously.
