Lol his gone after this season you not going get what you think you going get. This trade is banking on Habs to be bad.

Why would Laine be gone after this year? He is RFA and the Jets own his rights for 3 more seasons.

3 years team control bud, Chevy already rejected a better offer from CAR anyway

He doesn't have a choice. He either signs with Winnipeg after next year and plays or he sits and still owes the Jets 2 years after next season.

Ok then, he has 1 year left on his deal then 2 years RFA so he’s under contract

What I’m trying to say is as hilarious as it sounds Laine’s pretty underrated on capfriendly when real life gm’s rate him higher then here
Windjammer liked this.

Are you referring to the Trocheck, Pesce package?

Trocheck has been terribly underwhelming the past two years, not to mention an impending UFA (I understand they'd negotiate beforehand) and Pesce is most definitely not the defenseman I'd ask for from Carolina. He had a great 18-19 season (as did all their d-men) but his metrics leave much to be desired relative to the rest of that group.

That's not to say this package is any better, but I understand why Winnipeg would absolutely say no to that deal.

Nah, the Necas+ package. Was more in there put Necas was the main piece, bit less tempting now that we have Perfetti in the center pipeline though

Ah didn't know about that... definitely more intriguing offer depending on what else it included
