Bro it’s 3 years of a guy when his deal ends when he’s 35 for 2 of the top prospects in the nhl

Even Kane is not getting that sort of high end return, his career is in the last half now. No one is giving up hoping they can squeeze a few more seasons

Last time I checked Newhook is not a top 10 NHL Prospect.... I'd strongly argue Byram isn't either. Adding Kane would undoubtedly put the Avs over the top but your homerism thinks it's "Robbery by Chicago". If you can basically ensure a championship, you do it, not gambling on winning one with unproven talent.

Where did I say Kane was past his prime, you have some serious reading comprehension issues. Dear lord

"his career is in the last half now. No one is giving up hoping they can squeeze a few more seasons"

I'd love to hear how you explain this as being "not past his prime"

That "does" tell the whole picture.

I'll remember that next time I see a rangers fan saying Zibanejad>Barkov/Eichel

Zibanejad isn't close to either of them. Do you hear one person's opinion and believe it is universally decided upon the entire fanbase?

Dude Idk what you want? Literally all I said was giving out bad contracts to players like Trouba is how you prevent yourself from winning a cup. He didn't play well and he's making way too much money to not play well

He's 26. He didn't have an NHL-level partner, he had to adjust to a new city, team, rink, and system. It's not over yet with Trouba. He's played one season. Your claim is just wrong.

When you are making 8M, that isn't an excuse. You ask for 8M and you better be a superstar. At this rate, he's about as valuable as Skinner or Bobrovsky

But what I'm trying to tell you is, he has played 1 season. You can't determine that in one season. K'Andre Miller is likely going to be his partner and is WAY better than what he's played with. It's unfair to judge him considering how bad this defense was.

In what world is it unfair to judge someone who demanded 8M out of you and then performed badly?

That's what I'm saying, if you want to ask for the big money then you have to perform every year, there are no excuses.

Also K'Andre Miller is a prospect who's like 20 years old. What did I say about overrating prospects

hes 32, so yes he is in the last half of his career. This isnt some sort of riddle of a hot take.
I guess you dont understand how aging curves work.

Again you have major reading comprehension issue, you are looking for something thats not there to debate about Kane bc you are a huge Hawks homer.

Dude what? You literally asked me where you said he was past his prime and I quoted you saying "squeeze a couple more seasons out of him and in the last half of his career". Make up your mind, is he in his prime or not? Like you're moving the needle with every comment you make. Also, it's funny that the guy who misquoted his age is trying to give lessons on "reading comprehension". Oh and by the way, in case you didn't notice, he actually has more points than Mack over the past two seasons and there's no signs of him slowing down. You can talk about "age curves" all you want but that's a general situation that is not reflective of each individual player. Imagine if you were able to trade for Marty St Louis, Sakic, Chelios, age 31+ years.

Sorry but 100+ superstar, perennial MVP candidates, don't grow on trees

Actually when it comes to superstars at Kane's level, they are usually very good into their late 30s

So you are proving my point of being a hawks homer looking for a fight about Kane that isnt there.

It's hilarious how much this site overrated "potential". Like I've said a billion times, if there was as many superstars as there are "untouchables"...

All I said was Kane is 1000% worth Byram and Newhook at 6M. Anyone that disagrees has 0 clue what they are talking about haha. I wouldn't make the trade if I were the avalanche, but the value is there.
