I really do feel for Toronto fans. It can't be easy in a hockey driven market with national attention on your team. Seriously it can't be easy.

Having said that, this team is far worse than last years team. I know hindsight is 20/20 but the signing of Tavares was a huge mistake and then giving into Marner was another huge mistake. I think they knew Tavares was a mistake but I also think they really thought he was the piece that would win them a cup before all entry level contracts expired. it didn't happen and now you'll see them trying to patch this team together. Wayne Simmonds and Joe Thornton are great signings if this was 2015. Probably should have signed players like these instead of Tavares.

also to add insult to injury it looks like the Islanders will win the cup before the Leafs. Moreover, if the Islanders have given the money to Tavares imagine now the players they couldn't retain. Kind of reminds you of the leafs.

You are wrong about Tavares. I don't dislike him at all, its not his fault Leaf management made a bad decision. Furthermore, my Islanders comment was only to show you that if he had stayed there then their fate would have been the same as the Leafs and given that the Islanders have a much better defense and a more balanced offense I believe they will win the cup before the Leafs.
