Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Kane, Evander
Additional Details:
Kane hasn't worked in Buffalo. Trading him for some far-market value makes sense for the Sabers. A good prospect, a pick and a prospect that has shown potential IMO is far value.
BUF
  1. Cassels, Cole
  2. 2018 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Rights to Nikita Tryamkin
2.
VAN
  1. Brown, Dustin ($2,850,000 retained)
Additional Details:
[TRADE TAKES PLACE IN OFF-SEASON AFTER LOTTO]

Kings get out of cap hell in 2 years by trading away D. Brown. They will retain 2.8m for the life of his contract but will only have Dorsett for 2 years essentially saving ~$3m in cap space for 3 years which is huge. Gives the Kings some sandpaper and leadership to play in there bottom 6.
LAK
  1. Dorsett, Derek
Additional Details:
[TRADE TAKES PLACE IN OFF-SEASON AFTER LOTTO]

Canucks trade an overpaid 4th liner to a playoff team. Brown who is probably a 3rd liner for his career comes to Vancouver.
3.
VAN
  1. 2018 3rd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
[TRADE TAKES PLACE IN OFF-SEASON AFTER LOTTO]
Rights to Calvin De Haan

Canucks get a bottom pairing (with potential) d-man to man the PP. Brings offensive instincts but does not bring much the other way. Expendable thanks to Ryan Pulock and the fact that NYI has d-man locked for a number of years.
NYI
  1. Baertschi, Sven
Additional Details:
[TRADE TAKES PLACE IN OFF-SEASON AFTER LOTTO]

Isles get a ~top 6 winger who scored 15g last year. Still has room to grow and might not develop into a perennial 20g scorer but has shown promise. More suited for the east and expendable due to Kane and Brown acquisitions. Given he is signed and IMO shows more promise then De Haan, a pick was added.

De Haan will most likely be traded, or he will be lost for nothing in the expansion Draft. Sven would not be what is needed by the Isles, they already have they LW set with Ladd, Lee, Beauvillier, kulemin. With also chimera, Prince playing on the RW although they are LW. Remove Sven, and add a younger B Level prospect with. 2nd and the would probably get DeHaan. Maybe even a B Level prospect and a 3rd would get it done.

Ya, not sure if nucks trade LW as its already weak. Brown isnt a guy benning is looking for (23-28 years old) and his cap woudlnt help canucks with RFA's. What about brock boeser?

I'm sick of seeing people putting in Nolan Patrick in the Canucks roster for 2018.
1st - It is a damn lottery pick. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
2nd - Why would you have a Fantasy (Dream pick) locked into a roster position, but not have Brock Boesser in the lineup?
3rd - Canucks don't have a need for De Haan (Juolevi?). Brown is unlikely to be moved for a plug (He's going to get 40 to 50 points this year). Kane is... well Kane (not Patrick).
