2nd round pick in 2015, pick came as part of the ROR deal to buffalo.
Last year went Midseason from Boston University where he was getting no love from the coaching staff to Rouyn-Noranda Huskies....put up 27pts in 33 games with them, 22pts in 20 games in the playoffs.

Big debate in Avs land if he should play another year at Junior and dominate or if he is ready to go pro and play in the AHL.
So far in the AHL he is 8pts in 8 games, plays a very big pissed off power forward game and looks to be your ideal 3rd line winger that creates havoc

Also known as Rouyn-Norandalanche; Avs prospects Julien Nantel, JC Beaudin, and Greer propelled last year's team to the Memorial Cup final. Rantanen played in the AHL last year as an under-ager thanks to an exception for Euros; Greer has a similar underage exception for this season due to his previous college time. Greer has been fast-tracked by the Avs FO and, given his size (6'3") and ability to succeed when challenged, it is a possibility he sees time in the NHL this season.
