Description

Updated roster after signing Mikheyev. Also, i dont see this roster working under the cap with Kerfoot on the team. His cap hit is too high and they have to make room for Barabanov, Vesey, Younger cheaper forwards. Also, Thornton can play 3rd line even though he's 41. I believe that will happen with Spezza rounding out the 4th line center position. The depth of the team is really coming together. I have a feeling Dermott or holl will be out the door at some point from now until the deadline since they need to make room for a guy like Sandin who in two years will be a #4 i believe and also depending on how lehtonen transitions into the nhl which shouldnt be a problem as he will have a leg up on the competition after ripping apart the KHL before the NHL season starts. I give dermott $1.25 tops tops.

why, Kerfoot is a good penalty killing centre, plays in the top 6 from time to time on the wing, he's feisty and speedy + has a good defensive stick

literally bury engvall and roberston and you have a cap compliant time on opening night that can accrue cap space throughout the year with Kerfoot

Kerfoot again, lol. Just saw a NJD fan post an armchair GM with Andreas Johnson going to Ottawa, lol.

Kerfoot is not a bad player, makes an appropriate salary for production, and is actually a lot like Connor Brown and Chris Tierney, same age, just a little less production but close, but...

Kerfoot has a large % of his earnings as signing bonus, and Ottawa avoids those. So basically, Kerfoot might be fine in Ottawa, but they don’t want that balloon payment. Blame Melnyk.

Engvall will prob get games in this year, if the leafs are injury cursed like last year
