One working theory is that they'll have him play with Makar but it depends on how things shake out in camp and early in the season. Timmins might also be in the mix, too; I could see them using Timmins to spell EJ a bit to keep him healthy for the playoffs and to give Timmins some NHL time. He could also share some time with Cole. It's a good problem to have.
