Agreed on Kooks, but I'd actually play him instead of benching the guy.
He's fast, a good passer, owns solid possession metrics.. He should take icetime away from Russel at the very least.

I'm not a fan of bringing Sheahan back. Pretty sure you can do better than that, especially if you can clear $3.4M in contracts through trades. Soderberg or Haula on a 1-year deal would be better.

Well defensive pairs are a bit loopy. Tippett won’t play larsson on his weak side that will force him to his backhand in clearing the zone which isn’t exactly his biggest strength on his strong side this also makes Barrie responsible for almost all clearing which becomes too predictable to play against. My personal preference would be
Nurse bear all situations
Jones/broberg Larsson defensive zone starts
Russell Barrie offensive zone starts.
That’s just what I’d start the year with and if Barrie proves stronger defensively than I give credit for then maybe mix it up and have russell and larsson as a straight up defensive pairing.

i agree we can get better but we need a player who wants to play on the 4th line it ab the role if we got haula hes gonna want at least middle 6 ice time but soderberg may work for the 4th line. sheahan worked very well with archibald so if no one signs him id much rather have sheahan than a khaira or haas

They weren't all that good together, TBH.

I'd take a long look at upgrades first.
