Flames aren’t trading their top defensmen for nylander who would be their 4 or fifth best forward. (Gaudreau, tkachuk and lindholm are better and monahan and him are close)

Nylander's value is a lot closer to Mangiapane, Andersson, and a 1st than it is with Hanifin and Mangiapane. Flames fans overrate Andersson because he's a young right handed d-man. Reality is he's a 4-5 d-man right now that provides very little offence. Sure he's good defensively, but he even took a step back in defensive play this year with his xGA increasing by almost 5% despite starting in the offensive zone 54.6% of the time. Nylander is one of the best puck possession and play driving players in the league. Hanifin and Mangiapane doesn't get the deal done. Sorry Flames fans

Nylander = Lindholm -- Lindholm has had 1 good season, arguably 2, Nylander has been consistently at least a 60 point player his entire career. Nylander has 3 seasons at 60 + points, Lindholm has 2. Call it equal cause Nylander makes a bit more against the cap but Nylander's actual salary is only $2.1M more. SO at best it's equal but Lindhold definitely isn't better. It's just Toronto haters that say stuff like that.

How is nylander better than gaudreau? Gaudreau has had more points every season besides one where they tied at 61 (gaudreau played 10 less games that season) and this season where nylander had one more point but this has been gaudreaus worst season of his career. Also lindholm is better because he is way better defensively and similar offensively and making less.
