If I may:

IMO Danault would be 2C. More icetime. Against tougher competition. Separated from Staal...
+
Danault's contract would be more expensive, toward 6M AAV. At 5M, Montreal would/should sign him and keep him.

But the trade addresses both teams needs while respecting the cap. And I cant tell who would "win" the trade on the long run. Good job.
