I actually don’t mind the trade for Toronto if McNabb or Hague came back instead of Martinez. And there was no Dermott is the deal. Just Tuch, Hague and a 2nd for Nylander and a 4th. Or Tuch, McNabb, a 2nd for Nylander and a 4th. Save money on Tuch and he’s signed long-term too. U shouldn’t have to give up Dermott though too. His contract is valuable This year. Even as a rental. 874k for a possible 2nd paring D. Even if it is a rental, he still should bring a good return back.

IMO Toronto’s defence isn’t a weakness anymore to the point where you have to downgrade their forwards to compensate. Trading Nylander for a much worse (still good) player just to upgrade your 4th D for a couple months seems like a bad idea

We are losing Dermott in the Seattle draft, so might as well get him for something

We are going to lose Dermott to Seattle... so trade Nylander.

These trade Nylander lobbyists are getting more and more ridiculous.

Why would you not protect him? Hes literally the next Jonas Brodin. Leave Brodie exposed instead of Dermott.
And why are you putting Nylander in the trade?

I doubt the Leafs expose Brodie after acquiring him. If we keep Dermott, we lose Kerfoot.
