Merilainen I'm a little more reserved on because Karpat is a deep program that gets consistently good goaltending. That said, with Annunen and Blomqvist both in the top League, there's at least something to the fact that he's the top goalie on the u20 team.

I have a feeling Jarventie won't be slept on for much longer. He's had a great season so far, and I think he's going to get a lot of eyes on him at the World Juniors. He's going to be a pretty important part of the Finnish offense, probably getting to be top 6 PP1.

Guennette I really think is great. Probably not more than a 3rd pair guy, but there's so much to like in his game. Tall, smooth skater, puck mover and a great positional defender. He's a lot of the things you look for from a modern defensive defender.

Sogaard might nave more upside than Daccord, but Joey Okay is the top G prospect imo. He's their top AHL Goalie, and he's the closest of the bunch to the NHL.

Also in terms of upside, Jarventie is definitely better than Formenton imo. I like Formenton a lot, but I look at him like a Kasperi Kapanen type. Absolute killer on the 3rd line, and the PK, but looks out of place in a regular top six role.

Jarventie on the other hand might be a more raw, less refined player than Formenton, but I think his upside is higher. Formenton is low risk in the sense that he's basically a lock to be at worst a regular NHL player, Jarventie's flaws might keeping him from being that if his offense doesn't translate, but he has the upside to be a real scoring threat in the top 6. I think his upside is a complimentary scoring winger who might be able to flirt with 30 goals in a season, while not really driving play much.
Gablerino liked this.

Why is this the first I'm learning of a player named Angus Crookshank? I'm pretty sure that guy was apart of the Order of the Phoenix

If Shane Pinto was your 4th best prospect, you would have a really good prospect pool. But your 4th best CENTRE prospect? That's just not fair.

To be fair, depending on how training camp goes he could easily pass Brown this year if Brown fails again to make the NHL out of camp. Pinto has been stupid good this year, 10 points in 7 games, and like 70% in faceoff draws. Having a Hobey Baker season, and nobody outside of Sens fans are talking about him.

S tier name. Pretty underwhelming prospect, but he's the most reliable goal scorer on a pretty weak UNH team. Not bad for a 5th round pick.

Even if you put Pinto 3rd that would mean L.Brown is our 4th best centre prospect, which again, is just ridiculous. He is easily forgotten or written off because of the other guys we have but still has so much potential and would be a lot more hyped up on any other team. Has only been pro for 2 seasons picking up 70 points in 81 games in the process and has looked awesome in the NHL half the time he's been up there. it's just the other half people tend to think of when it comes to Brown. Anyway, I can't wait to see how all these guys turn out. Anyone that says there is a prospect pool better than this one is just.. wrong.

Ottawa probably has the deepest prospect pool for sure. I think LA might have a better top 5-10 but Ottawa has more balance with Forwards, Dmen and Goalies, and in my opinion a deeper pool of NHL level prospects.
