No thank you. Bergy and Krejci are not getting younger. Studnicka and Beecher must be held onto. Maybe Lauko/Moore in place of Beecher/Lauzon.

Now if Vegas would do something like Kase/Moore/3rd for Tuch/Martinez i’m all in.

Or Moore/Bjork/pick(s) for one of their wings. Sure.

Those would be bad deals for VGK as Lauko is a downgrade from Beecher and Moore a MASSIVE downgrade from Lauzon. Over the last 3 years Marchessault has played at a 65pt pace and he's only 30yr old, signed to 4 more years on a very good deal.

Of course they are bad deals for Vegas. They are in a bind. They are not getting cap compliant by making beneficial trades for them. If they can, more power to them. The longer it goes the less the return they are going to get.

Boston isn't the only game in town. Another team would offer more than a 7th d-man + and a prospects who projects as a bottom 6 guy.

We’ll see. 🤷🏻‍♂️ They have been trying to move Max since the end of the season. Moving contracts at this point is tough. Very few teams have space. Add in NTC complications and Hoffman and others still available via FA as opposed to giving up assets. They are in a pickle.

Their $1 million over the cap right now. They could clear $5 million offer up March for picks/prospects and someone would give up a 1st for him. That 1st is more valuable than Lauko/Moore combined.

1m over with 21 players. Only about 6 or 7 teams can take a full 5m contract and they are not buyers outside of Preds who have been unwilling to pay the price.

Maybe they get creative or involve a 3rd team, but the odds of them getting full value is slim. 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are 8 teams right now that have $5+ million in cap space. You could probably include the Rangers in that as they are about $200k short of $5 million. Boston doesn't have enough cap space unless they dump a bad contract, which other teams could do as well if they really wanted March. At the end of the day your not going to get a 65+ player for magic bean and a depth d-man because of a teams cap situation. Other teams would easily offer more if with VGK situation and honestly it only takes two teams to start a bidding war.

And yet Nate Schmidt went for a 3rd round pick. Not exactly full market value. There are rumors of Tyler Johnson being traded for Henrik Zetterbergs contract. These are not normal times. Again we shall see. I agree with you, but the way things are there are no guarantees.

Schmidt was also moved very quickly once his name hit the market. I'm going to guess VGK didn't shop Nate much before moving him and that's why he wasn't moved for more. Similar to Boston/Hamilton when he was moved. There were teams that didn't even know Hamilton was available until after he was moved.

As for Johnson, he cleared waivers meaning no one wanted him for free. Him for Zets contract straight up doesn't makes sense to me (unless I'm missing something). He's a pending UFA that can go on LTIR and owed $1 million in real money. Johnson is locked in for 4 more years and owed just shy of $18 million in real money. In Johnson case, he's a good size cap hit while declining the last 3 years. That's not the same for March.
