Plekanec gives Calgary the time to get Sam.B to become better and get a good Vet for 5.25 M for one year

No way in hell you get Kane for that cheap, a 3rd liner and a late first?
The Sabres are building, were not really looking for prospects, maybe Patches, but then we (Sabres) would have to add something, and I doubt MTL is keen to trade him.
I don't see much of a deal of Kane going to the Habs this year.

I can't see the Habs wanting Kane anymore then they wanted to hang on to Kassian. Too much drama for not enough return.

Avs are not giving up a 3rd round pick for that bum DD even if it means getting rid of McLeod.
You are stuck with that bum and wont be getting any value back for him

I agree a 3rd rounder is rich but straight up for McLeod, you're silly not to take. You're getting out of a contract next year for taking on a little bit more salary this year not too mention a far superior player. To be honest MTL is silly to offer. I'd rather keep DD for the remainder of the contract if that's the case. McLeod doesn't crack 50% of NHL rosters and that's being generous. DD is actually a 3rd line center on some teams. Winger at worst.
