Team Explanation
We need to be all-in for this season without a doubt. If we can sign one of the remaining forward free agent forwards to a cheap deal using Lundqvist's LTIR money, we gain another legitimate top nine scoring threat. Someone like Haula is the perfect fit IMO, he can play center or wing and is a good two-way player. If one of our top three centers go down, I'd feel much more comfortable throwing Haula down the middle instead of promoting Dowd to the third line.

Of the remaining group of backup goalies, Miller would be my target. I think he's got the 20 games of solid goaltending we need in him to get us to the postseason. Hopefully Schultz has a resurgence of a year and Kuznetsov bounces back strong for us to be a legitimate contender.

I like this - but need a 13th forward, especially with a shortened season. Haula would be amazing, but a 13th forward is necessary. Somehow Caps will have to come up with an additional 600k (ish) in this scenario.

If Haula can sign for 1.5 instead of 2, there's then barely enough room for Sprong

Sprong will probably be a bust. Wants to play top 6 minutes. He wasnt very good in PGH. I think McMichael deserves a chance. He's scary good.
