If the Leafs are going to better in two years, Ben Smith, Komarov and Hunwick and Sparks aren't going to on the team. A lot better options are playing for the Marlies are will be acquired through UFA with that 15m in cap space.

Mr.Cap: With that moniker I'm surprised you didn't know that UFAs do not go to arbitration to set their salaries.....and your JVR suggestion.

Oh and that 15m cap space will have to be save for years ahead.
I.e Mathews, future players. Can't just rush straight into it.

I didn't say waste it....but c'mom Hunwick and Smith. Don't know why you made a 2018/19 roster with only this years players in mind? Isn't the purpose of making roster two years in advance is to project the logical players that mind be on the team?

Hunwick is a underrated 6/7 D-man and Smith is a good 4C. Well yeah that's probably what I should of done.

Consdering the comps and the market for defencemen you have to think Fowler and Stone get more dollar and term as free agents.

I think you're right about Stone because he's a RD but I didn't want to overvalue him. Idk maybe I undervalued him. And Fowler might get traded before he even gets there.

Get real if you think that Cam Fowler is signing a 3 year deal for $200,000 more then what he's currently making, Try more like 7 years $42 million at least to sign Fowler he will get close to Shattenkirk money especially if he continues to have a career year this year.

Ben Smith signed for about $1.3M more than he will get.

JVR under paid.

Many other contracts (sosh way too much for example) off but will ignore that. Just don't see this concept working. LW is very weak.

Hahaha yeah ok.. Fowler for 7 years? at 42 mill???? Lindholm got 6 years at 5.2 annually. Fowler is not going to be getting more than Lindholm.

What? How is Smith overpaid? One-year contract at 2 mill and especially if that there's a possibility that they could be below the cap floor. He's a good player for 4C and that contract has only got one-year on it which is perfect.

JVR might be underpaid but if you're gonna give him more say for example like a 5-6 mill contract then it's gonna be a 3 year deal. No way they take him at 4 years. They'll have problems later on.

What's wrong with Sosh? He's a great player.

Sosh a GREAT player? Please don't make falsehoods just to justify a position. Now if you truly believe he is about to become a 70 point man in the NHL....that's different, but I'm sure you don't believe that either.. Leafs chances of signing Fowler are about one in thirty one. Better logic would be think Valiev or Dermot could be better NHLers at 1m each.

I really like Soshnikov, too. Not a fan of how Babcock is using him, however. The guy could do damage offensively playing with skilled forwards on the third or second line. What do you all think of Soshnikov-Matthews-Nylander long-term?
