Switch Suter or Shaw with Cat and Murphy with Boqvist, other than that pretty solid

I understand both of your thoughts and agree those moves would make sense in some ways. However, for me it's about forcefully realizing value from Debrincat's hefty contact and utilizing his sneaky possession talents. I prioritize that over any value Shaw brings to line one in the short term; this is a development year. In the same way, Suter stays L2 to lend some D there (plus I don't think he's L1-ready straight off of the plane). I also like Cat on his strong hand side.
I try to push Zadorov's value up this year and trade him at the deadline. Then I play Carlson and Kalynuk those reps the rest of the season. Boqvist stays sheltered with DeHaan (a gut vibe I have as I really like a healthy DeHaan's game). I trade DeHaan, too.

I'd prefer to keep Strome and Debrincat together, but having Kane with Strome works too. Kampf over Hagel though.

What happens when Dach comes back?

Never mind I just saw he’s ours months. Ugh. By then it’ll be trade deadline and Soderberg and the Marks can be tossed aside for some 2nd round picks.

Exo2769 - You're probably correct that Colliton will staff Kampf over Hagel - Kampf is a pretty good shutdown player that has learned to win draws. Wallmark is Kampf with far higher offensive upside; in my mind, only one of them plays and it's not Kampf. Janmark and Soderberg push Kampf down, too. It's not that Kampf won't play, he's on my scratch squad, but he just doesn't get prioritized as I think we know his ceiling. He'll still play every other game.

I think fans are going to initially underestimate Hagel and then grow to love him - a fan favorite. He plays a skilled rat game with speed (not entirely unlike Highmore) and Hagel put up 102 points in 66 games with Red Deer to earn a contract. He's on a tear with HC Thurgau this year, too. I'm confident that my bottom-six setup is solid to dangerous.

As for Jco5ta5, you're right - there will be room for Dach. I'm not certain Wallmark won't stay - I like his game. Janmark & Soderberg are great signings for the 3rd line today, but they'll likely be traded to contenders (though who knows with the Covid-19 rules, taxi squads, weird cap ramifications, etc). Second rounders might be high hopes as there will be fewer teams headed to the playoffs (16 this year) and more teams selling decent veterans. I'd think the Hawks will recoup the third they're missing somehow.
