CBJ gets rid of the PLD distraction while adding a prototypical Torts player in Couture. He’s a pro that works hard, is clutch in the playoffs and can slot into the top line center spot for the next couple of seasons. Sharks retain $1.5m while adding two high picks, and two mid level European prospects. CBJ can still be competitive this season without the distraction of an unhappy PLD while adding a quality player signed longterm. Not to mention, they won’t need to face PLD this year in the West.

SJS get a promising, talented young center to help jumpstart their refresh/rebuild/whatever you want to call it. They move on from one of their longer contracts and can reset their leadership group.

WPG gets out of the Roslovic situation and adds a promising 4C in True (Ehlers cousin), a speedy bottom-6 wing in Sorensen (entering the last year of his contract), a solid defensive prospect that’s currently on Russia’s top d-pair in the WJC, and a decent pick.

SJS adds another offensive player with potential to bolster their reset while getting younger. They could also use more quality right shots in their top 9. A change of scene and more opportunity for Roslovic makes sense in San Jose.
