He's Nick Rash's little brother, streaky, defensively responsible (invisble) and uses his size sparingly. Max Nashalready. If I was a habs fan, I'd be Maxless. I'd say "get used to it", but chances are, he'll get traded this year.

I rather like this proposition, but I'd rather get Brodie (a LHD) instead of Wideman. Why not something like Tkachuk + Brodie for Pacioretty + Beaulieu + 2nd?

Pacioretty's value has dropped significantly this season.

If I was Calgary there is no chance I would trade Tkachuk for Pacioretty

Pac might be a softie, but by no means does his value drop to rock bottom. Pac would garner a really good NHLer and a pick in return or a high-end prospect and a couple picks.

I know looking at the history of a player is dumb, but when viewing a star/superstar you really need to consider looking at his past records (especially since the slump has only been this season).

Yes, but he is also 28, so it isn't unheard-of that he could start seeing a decline.

He's on pace to be a 50 pt player, and is usually a 60 pt player, nothing to scoff at, especially with that friendly cap hit.

The reason there is no way Calgary would consider this imo, is Tkachuk is on pace to be a 40 pt player.... at age 18. I know who I hold onto, especially with a young growing team like the Flames

5 vs 5 Stats with galchenyuk:

Radulov TOI: 172 G:1 A:7 GF: 3.48 GA: 3.13

Pacioretty TOI: 91 G:1 A:3 GF:3.28 GA:0

In other words pacioretty and galchenyuk was a better combo at 5 vs 5 then radulov and galchenyuk.

Habs fans have been complaining about him every since he became C but nothing has changed. The guy has always been streaky and usually invisible when he's not scoring. The only thing that has changed is he's no longer getting the prime offensive opportunities with Desharnais setting him up so he could take 300 shots a year. Galchenyuk and Radulov are now getting those opportunities and I'm totally fine with that but complaining about pacioretty because he isn't scoring 40 goals in a secondary role would've been like complaining about radulov because he wasn't producing with plekanec at the start of the year.

He's on pace for 51 pts right now, that is 2nd line producton not every guy on a team is going to get 60+ pts... If there is anyone to complain about it's tomas plekanec, $6 mil for a mitchell/Flynn caliber of player.

Got to love us HABS fans. The team is winning generally, playing pretty decent but we got to find something to complain about at all times!

WHat!!!!! Brian Flynn has 1 point this season???? Trade everybody, Fire the coach. Sell the team......

Pacioretty will come out of his funk and when he does those looking to trade him for peanuts will look like the amateur's they are. This "what have you done for me recently" mentality is why these people are not fit to GM a real team. There's not being able to forecast a player's value and getting burned as a result but there's also not looking at a players track record and seeing that he will more then likely get out of a slump he's in.

Absolutely agree for the trade. CGY shouldn't make it. As for Pacioretty declining, sure he might start to decline as it isn't unthinkable but then again how many star players decline so rapidly within there late 20's? Mid 30's? absolutely but if your still in your 20's, you might decline a bit but not nearly anything to really complain about.

Not too mention that there is a clear pattern showing Pacioretty's decline this year. Look at who he's been playing this year. Desharnias and Plekanec. 2 players entrenched in a worse slump than pacioretty's......
