Comments to the rebuild:

It is a time to gradually shake up Canucks roster as most of their best players are not what they used to be before. I am afraid they will miss the playoffs for the second consecutive time. The suggested changes by me are just the first step on the long road. More player transfers will happen in 2018 when both Sedin likely leave the organization. The same applies for Hansen and Sbisa.

Comments to trades:

1. Edler is on the decline of his career. Let him go for a younger, more promising and affordable player. Habs get a decent substitute for Markov in him.

2. Week Canucks defense need improvement in elite offensive youngster such as Theodore. Ducks have plenty of defensemen to place on their roster but lack a depth in forwards. Granlund could be the answer for the second line left wing. Just compare his statistics with Cogliano. Draft pick from the second round might suffice in this case. If not then definately the first rounder.

3. Andreoff is an affordable option for the fourth line. The Kings will not miss him as he is not an "regular" NHLer.

4. Folin is still quite young, reliable player who should stabilise Canucks` defense corps. Baertschi, on the other hand, has not proven himself as a second liner so far and it would be a pity to put him on lower roster spot. He is not going to be a player great in checking or hits.

Other assignments:

1. Flynn. He means an option for the fourth line as Canucks have little choice for this spot.
2. Hudler. He will be hired for just one year and expect him to be replaced next season if his play is not satisfactory. He cannot spoil much, rather will reinforce the offence.

Folin (imo) is more important to the Wild defense than Scandella or one of Dumba/Spurgeon. I have no clue what kind of contract he's going to get this offseason.

If Baertschi can't play on the 3/4th lines the Wild don't really have a spot for him. Parise, Nino, Zucker, Granlund are all better or at least the equivalent of Baertschi at LW.

If the Canucks are going into rebuild mode, they wouldn't make more of these free agent signings that would help them win. This was supposed to be the year that the Canucks started the rebuild, but then they decided to sign Eriksson to a massive contract, which will seriously hurt their chances of a full rebuild any time soon.
