It was a 2022 3rd Round Pick not a 2021. and Winnipeg retained 26% of Laine's salary.

I will say I was not factoring in Laine's "leaving after this season regardless" into his value which was an obvious mistake. This was full Dubois value and not full Laine value for that reason. Anyone who thinks if the contracts were equal length long term that this would be the same deal is kidding themselves. If Laine is extended long term this is an epic steal for Columbus.
