Description

Just a note, I will try to be as fair as possible will contracts and trades, mostly leaning to the side of slight overpayment just to make it as realistic as possible.

As much as it would irk a lot of fans and even some of the core, I really think the best approach is slowly adding pieces over the next 2 years and then in Free Agency 2022 sign some big names. The amount of available cap space that will be available is huge.

Part 2: Oilers Trade Caleb Jones as part of a package for For Jonas Korpisalo and then go with 7-3-1 option. They protect:

Klefbom is out for for the season as he focuses on getting himself right for the 2022/23 season. Bouchard gets a full season and Broberg becomes a regular in the later half of the season. No big UFA signings, maybe a complimentary middle 6 forward and a short team LS Dman. It will be tempting, but they need to save cap space for the next offseason.

EDM is probably paying them to take Neal. It's in the best interest of both teams. EDM needs the cap space to find better players, Seattle benefits from the pick.
But you can bet if push comes to shove they take a low salary younger player before they take Kassian. They got better uses for that cap space from teams that want to pay up than waste it on a player like Kassian.

way overpayment for stall maybe if it was eric stall. but maybe 1 mil at most for a year for him

Not going to lie I really haven't watched him at all so I just took his name for the value haha. But you get the idea, just a solid vet on a 1 year deal. Doesn't have to be staal
