rangers are giving up to much McDonagh is good but he's making 6.7 million for the next 6 years and he's already 31 if anything we are helping tampa by taking cap they should be giving us extra assets

The Rangers foresaw McDonagh's decline and knew his next contract would be horrendous (which it is) so they moved on from him and there's no way they take him back now. Same thing happened with Callahan, Dubinsky, Stepan, Richards... I'm glad they moved on from the whole 2012 ECF squad/management style. No looking back now, this is the kids' time.
