We have enough accrued cap space to keep Perry and Mete on the roster for the entire year. Plus if Armia is out long enough for Perry to play the 20 games it takes for him to be waiver eligible, we can put him on retroactive LTIR to clear more cap space.

And we have no interest in Pirri or Bowey.

Where do you find a number for accrued cap space? Waiver eligibility is only 10 games also. Pirri is another useful fill-in with experience and Bowey becomes the undisputed #7 defenceman in Mete's place.

Hawks don't want Mete. Hawks have Keith, Murphy, De Haan, Zadarov, and young futures in Beaudin, Mitchell, Boqvist, Carlsson, Regula (4 of which are playing in the NHL). We have a logjam of defenders and besides a future #1 LHD, we absolutely don't need anymore.

Since Perry is on Emergency Recall, his first 10 games don’t count towards the 10 required for waiver eligibility. But in short, the habs are sending down one of Kotkaniemi/Suzuki/Evans/Romanov to the taxi squad on off-days to increase flexibility and accrue cap space.

And Pirri’s fine, but we already have Frolík and Perry ahead of him, so there’s no reason to trade Mete just to get a depth forward. And Bowey has gone unsigned as a UFA until a few days ago when the Hawks signed him for the sole purpose of meeting expansion draft exposure requirements.
