Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Coleman may be light if he does well again this year but we would have the cap to up the deal. His physicality and goal scoring would give us a powerful left side on the top 6.

Getzlaf in to provide additional leadership and physicality for the young group and will add depth scoring in a reduced role. Gives him a shot at contention, which the Ducks wont do for a while.

Weber providing depth on the right side in case of injuries.

Strong defense allows us to take some chances in net.

I can't see Getz leaving Anaheim, but even if he did, he'll make more than 1 x $2 mil. Guy is still an elite possession player, solid in the faceoff circle, physical, and still puts up a reasonable amount of points. I'd assume the Ducks will likely offer something like 2 x $5, and have him around to mentor Zegras.

Coleman at $3.5 million is optimistic, especially with $2.35 million remaining cap space

I did cover that in the write up

That is fair. Getzlaf staying makes the most sense and he would get paid more there. Maybe he takes a look at a shot at the cup but he probably stays.

For sure. I really can't see him chasing a cup, given that he's made it pretty clear that he wants to be in SoCal with his young family. Could be wrong, but, as a Ducks fan, I'd be quite content to have him here for the rest of his career.

I actually think that Rico will likely be the guy that they expose for the expansion draft. I love him, and think he's a solid 2 way C that is paid reasonably fairly, I just think it's not a bad way to free up almost $6 mil in space to add a more offensive player to pair with Zegras (Give me Taylor HALLLLLLL!)
