Why does Hamonic want out? If this is referring to the trade request last year that was because of a family matter and he rescinded stating he wanted to stay in New York. So have things changed since then?

I just assume after the Isles dumpster fire of a year and dumpster fire of a future he would want out. The isles have a lot of D they will have to protect and this will help with that seeing as they don't need to protect Sanheim.

I'll agree that I lot of Islanders would want out. Not off Long Island but the Islander organization. But what a player wants unless he's a UFA doesn't mean much. To me the Isles will only protect 3 Dman, Leddy, NMC Boychuk and either one of Hamonic and youngster Pulock. SickFlow is right, I think Hamonic is in play, and deal for the Isles "4" Dman will take place anytime between January 1 and the before the expansion protection lists are set.
As a Leaf fan, I think the Leafs will make a good offer for "4" Dman, and if Hamonic, I think the Leafs have "lots" of near NHL prospects which the Isles would like if they are in a rebuild mode.
