Skjei hasn’t looked good against Tampa, but you can’t discount his play in the previous set of games this season. He was every bit a top 4 guy in those 15 games or so. Certainly better defensively than Bean or Gardiner. Fleury has been pretty meh this year.

Yeah, Skjei has looked fine to me. He’s not Slavin or Pesce, but he hasn’t been our 7th best defenseman. Fleury hasn’t looked like the same guy we saw at the end of last year. He looks like he regressed back to his tentative non-aggressive self. Fleury is a top 4 defenseman if he plays aggressive, and AHL level when he’s tentative. When he’s aggressive, he even shows a offensive side.

I have no issue with Fleury sitting until he wants to get mad and play aggressively.
