Off Season moves

Description
The St. Louis trade is basically Tanev for Thompson. The Canucks know Shattenkirk probably won't sign. They can offer him around 7 Mil per for a long term deal if they unload Sbisa, but he may not want to sign in Van anyway.
There will probably be a couple of teams looking to get Shattenkirk's rights. The package the Canucks pay in Tanev and a 3rd is more than any other team would likely offer even with Thompson thrown in, plus Tanev is a top 4 right hand shot d-man who can replace Shattenkirk's minutes at a more cap-friendly salary.
Quenville (a late 1st rounder) and a 3rd for Shattenkirk's rights is probably the going rate, and will help the Canucks rebuild the forward ranks.
Virtanen is by no means a bust, but he needs to start fresh somewhere that isn't his hometown. Debrusk is fair value. Neither might be ready for the NHL. Granlund is an NHL player, and a 2nd rounder is fair value considering where Virtanen and Debrusk were drafted (14th vs 6th).
I admit I don't know much about Domingue, but he sounds like more of a project vs prospect, so the trade is basically Markstrom for Fischer with a bit of extra coming back to the Canucks.
Miller signs at a hometown discount as at 37 years old, he's not gonna get much better of a deal elsewhere.

Really? Ryan Miller as your # 1 goalie and you only pay him 2.5m? Right. Terrible, $ overpayment for Drouin. Terrible trade for Canucks for the rights to Shattenkirk, only matched by the terrible trade for NJD for the rights to Shattenkirk. Can't see Arizona nearly that much for a back up goalie? If they wanted one, they can get one for free.

Miller will be 37 this off-season, nobody will give him a three year deal. He'll probably be a buyout or will retire before the 3 years is up. Of course it's an overpayment for Drouin, but the Canucks need to overpay for free-agents (See Eriksson), otherwise they don't come to the west. Shattenkirk will be the only big name free-agent this year, there may be multiple teams interested, a 1st rounder might be the going rate to get first crack at him. Right handed d-men don't grow on trees. Markstrom is very close to being a starter, his numbers are strong this year.

For someone who's most likely never seen a Canucks game, Palhal sure loves to rate their players.

Ha Ha Like how you said Burrows wouldn't sign at 2 million on my post but you got the 1 million Hometown discount! Your a joke. Your offer sheets get lower for Drouin every post to! Remember you said " this is just like last years team but you plugged in some prospects " weird that's what this team looks like but you got other team prospects instead of our own? This post was made Dec.18th to!!! applaud
