What would you give up for Eichel and hall at the trade deadline? Obviously Buffalo needs to rethink what their plan is and maybe move these two to re-do the rebuild. Still have cozens and dahlin who are young.

Eichel isn’t the kind of move anyone can make in-season during a pandemic.

Hall will probably get a 1st + a B or C prospect.

Eichel is so tough cause he’s obviously got a ton of value to Buffalo but b/c of flat cap and the amount he is getting paid it gets tough. I think the rangers might be the only team that can make an good enough effort to get what Buffalo wants (similar to the laine - Dubois deal)

Thats the thing, Eichel is 10x better than Dubois is. I get why the Rangers work but if they aren't gonna give up Laf AND Fox/Miller it doesnt make sense for Buffalo. To eliminate a total rebuild. Buf is gonna need a top 6 roster player that is established, a bottom 6 player (sort of like cap dump almost like Henrique in this situation), a top prospect, and 2 solid picks they can use or flip for better assets.

Yeah, Anaheim isn't an "Eichel" away from being competitive though. No point even discussing what the Ducks would have to give up.

Ya if I’m NYR I would Try something around zibanijad + kakko. I just don’t know what the market will be for eichel but if they are in a position where they need to move him then they have to do it

Zibs+Laffy or Kakko+1st+something. I don't think there's a way that Eichel moves to New York without Laffy, Kakko or K'Andre coming back, and to me, the only two roster players (fwd or D) that I'd be unwilling to move would be K'Andre and Fox.

It's an offseason trade if it happens. They'll really need to decide this summer what's going on, since his NMC kicks in the following summer, which would really f*ck them.

If he were on the market though, I'd say at least half the league takes a reasonably serious look. He's a major upgrade at C for like 27ish teams. Just have to make the money work.

If he’s super cheap, maybe, but he’s sort of the type of player that Montréal would least want if they’re trading for a roster player. They’d be better off going for a LHD like Ekholm.
