need a back up goalie

Created by: bigbrit93
Team: 2016-17 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 19, 2016
Published: Dec. 19, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'll be honest and say that I don't know how high the Devils are on Kinkaid, I know fans like him, but I don't know where he sits in the org.

I do know, that he has at least shown he's capable of stopping pucks in the NHL.

Bs give up Subban (who can maybe turn it around, but I don't want him here), and McQuiad who brings a good gritty presence to the 3rd pairing.

Kinkaid is not that good. One of the lesser backups in the NHL. Better off bringing up McIntyre.

Based purely on his stats (51 NHl GP; 2.71 GAA; .912 SV%) I think he is a better option than both Subban and McIntyre. And I could see it being purely for this year so that Tuukka can afford to take a game off so that he's not absolutely spent going into the playoffs (knock on wood we make it). Then next year hopefully McIntyre, or even Vladar, would be ready for NHL backup duties.

all i know is that subban and khudobin need to go and we need to let mcintyre have the starting job in providence for the rest of this year and have vladar back him up. we need to find a legitimate back up for the rest of the year aswell. khudobin, subban and mcintyre have a combined 1 win in boston this year. we can't keep giving up losses because of our backups

Kinkaid's stats have been alright but he's also played his whole career on the Devils who play under a pretty strict, defense first mentality. I remember watching him play in the world championships for USA last year and he was pretty weak. I agree they need a better backup but I'm not sure he's the guy you want.

I agree wholeheartedly Anton and Subban need to go. If McIntyre had been better in his 2 games, I'd bring him up for the back up spot.

I think the way the Bs defense is playing this year, he would do alright in net for us.

I'm ok with trading both McQuaid and Subban, but lets get something decent back. I dont think Kinkaid has any potential to even be a good backup goalie. Maybe someone like Hutchinson, Darling, or Hellebuyck, or even Demko. Those are good goalies that we may be able to get by giving up a (possible) future elite in Subban.
