What was said last year before a Hall trade was “ Bottom line—if Colorado (or anyone else) can land Hall’s temporary services at a rock bottom price, it might be worth taking he risk. But for anything more than a thrift store bargain, it might be best to maintain the status quo and leave Hall where he is.” then Arizona had an aneurysm and gave them a first +++ and how does everyone look back on that trade? The main point to remember is both Hall and Staal are UFA at the end of the season (which for Buffalo will be sooner than most) and we all know neither of them will resign for anything more than a half assed effort for one last big payday but if they want to have a chance to win, Buffalo (or even my favourite team Detroit not the leafs) are not even close. All I was saying here is Toronto could add and help their cap situation for next season while giving Buffalo some usable pieces that aren’t going to be free agents at the end of the year to work with or trade as they like.

2nd, 3rd and 5th for Staal and Hall both 50% retained. So that’s a better deal than what I suggested? Lmao. Told you they wouldn’t get much but at least in mine they got useable players back.
