I don't know why a brand new division rival would do you the favour of taking Kassian and I think you're undervaluing a few contracts here. Losiung both Bear and Jones I think would be tough on that D core and I don't think CBJ takes on that money.

It’s only 6.5M for one year with both of Bears, and Koskinens contracts expiring after next year. They could buyout Koskinen, or they could retain half and trade him for picks. Jones, and Bear I wouldn’t mind losing especially for a goalie like Merzlikins! I’m not the biggest fan of them anyway. Seattle wouldn’t be doing us a favour, as I believe he is the perfect pick for Seattle, big body, protects players, can fight, decent speed, decent shot, not bad at defence. He’s a good top 9 winger!

Fair enough on the other stuff, but I think Kassian is a decent bottom 6 guy getting paid like a middle six guy, if it was the end of last season that cap hit could be okay but the decline he has show this year is not worth any team taking him on at 3.2. Unless he can spectacularly turn it around coming off an injury there is no reason for Seattle to take him. If they're looking for the traits you listed above they could look at guys for less money that is producing more, like a Trent Frederic, Austin Watson, Nick Deslauriers. Cheaper, better players right now, no long term commitment and the fight more than Kassian.

I like this plan. I'm also sold on Haula now. 57 FO% with a fair bit of offensive upside. IMO Iaffolo might be a better fit with McD but Coleman is a great overall player too, wouldn't mind him

It's so funny as I often compare Pulju to Coleman stylistically, anyhow looks okay here overall, guessing Yams is closer to 4M maybe a Victor Rask type deal?

That’s fair. I believe Kassian would be an excellent pick for Seattle, not because I don’t want his cap hit, it’s because he is a good player. Yah he’s getting a tad too much, but it’s not a ridiculous contract.

That could be a option, I put him 2.5M for 2 years, because I want to see him for a few more years before giving him a monster contract so we know how good he will be. He’s good but he only has 16 points in 31 games, and I believe 2.5M is definitely fair. We would definitely have enough cap for raises!

Nice commenting on a old post.... it would be the 2021-2022 season, and these trades are not bad.
