The CBJ trade makes sense but I think it might be too steep for the Jackets to give up a 3rd round pick. Considering the Jackets at this point are likely to send their 2nd round pick to Vancouver for the Torts hire.

I thought about it and maybe jackets can switch the pick for a 2018. But honnestly right now they are in fire, may not be bad for them trading their 3rd and losing their 2nd considering all the good prospects they have (Dubois, Milano for exemple) if they are still that good at the deadline.

Those picks are so low in the low first and even a 2019 pick, they might never be NHLer or at least for four years. Think that the Isles would want near NHL prospects and lots of them for JT.

2017 pick will be low yes,but Islanders can use it to trade him tout get higher in the draft.
Mtl dont have good prospect other than Sergachev and McCarron, i doubt mtl Will trade Sergachev.
2019 pick will be when mtl might lose Tavares on free agent because of cap space, so maybe their pick will not ne that high.
Personnaly, I think the Islanders is winning that deal if they want to rebuild

They have Barzal, Dal Colle, Ho-Sang, Pulock, Pelech has good prospect
They add McCarron and probably Patrick. That's a real good start. However, everybody has an opinion.

MTL would have to lose Price in free agency, or he gets injured for it to be a top-15 pick. Gallagher has a good cap hit. but is a complimentary player. Without Tavares there isn't anyone him to compliment.

Gallagher did well with Plekanec and DD.

I have Plekanec (not this year) as better than Lee/Nelson. Not a DD fan at all, so there is that.

I just don't think Gallagher would ever be more than the 20/20 player he is now with the Isles (without Tavares), and his contract would be ending about the time they became competitive again.

Gallagher/Tavares would be a fun combo to watch. Gallagher might be a 30/30 player on Tavares wing.

If you read my little description, i am hoping Islanders draft Nolan Patrick
Patrick and Gally will be a good duo next year that's why im doing the trade

I don't think Patrick is going to be a franchise changer 1C. More of a RNH or McKinnon level 1oa. He had a nice year last year. This should be his breakout season, but is injured.
