So BUF takes on 2 more years of Neal at more than 4.5, and gets a B prospect and a second? Where's the incentive for BUF? They're better off not trading Hall if this is all they are going to get. EDM is going to need to pay someone to take Neal. They'd have to include a top end prospect and most likely a first to get this done. And even then I'm not sure BUF would be willing to take on yet another underachieving F.

I would disagree. The asking price on Hall is too much and no one is going to pay a Blue Chip Prospect for Hall. This trade isn't terrible as Buffalo needs to get something for Hall as he will walk as soon as the season is over.

I don't believe the trade will happen though. The 2nd Rnd pick would absolutely have to be a 1st Rounder. But in that case it starts to make a lot of sense.

Do the Oilers actually want to give up on Lavoie? I wouldn't.

I just don't see BUF taking on any bad contract that goes further than next season. Aski9ng price is definitely too high for Hall. They signed him knowing that A) him and Eichel clicked and they'd be back in the playoffs (which is what I thought) or B) they would be on the outside, but he'd be having a stellar year and be able to move him at the deadline for a king's ransom. I don't think anyone in the BUF organization saw option C coming at the beginning of the year.

Do the Oilers actually want to give up on Lavoie? I wouldn't.
