  2. 2022 2nd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Deadline deal:
Chicago gets : Edler (50% retained), Beagle (50% retained), Gaudette, Vancouver 2021 First round pick
Vancouver gets: Alexander Nylander, 2022 2nd round pick

Chicago takes a 1.5m cap dump for a bottom six forward (Who might be able to be put on LTIR), a mid-pairing defenseman, and a first-round pick that is potentially a top 10 pick. Vancouver gets Nylander, who had a breakout season last year, but has been injured. He is probably no longer worth the 8th overall pick he was drafted (he was traded for Jokiharju), but he can score at decent pace.

Bowman has done sillier things... I would be very happy for Vancouver if they could pull that off.

In what world is scoring 26 points, or even a 33 point pace a breakout season?

also, adam gaudette is a center, not a "mid pairing defensemen"

this trade is...not great. you dont get 1st round picks for injured busts.

I mean compare it to his previous seasons. He was barely getting on the charts

He's better than most third liners, and he'll be much cheaper

Canucks will probably be drafting top 10. You don't trade those picks away. Ridiculous.

How would Bowman be crazy for making this deal? He’s getting a potential top 10 pick to take a cap dump who’s contract expires after next year and they’re retaining part of his contract too
