Description
Bringing in Montour and playing him with Carlo is the perfect fit for him. It will allow him to use his speed and skill to drive some offence while Carlo plays his usual steady stay at home style. Very similar to how the Krug and Carlo pair operated in prior years. The Bruins are in desperate need of some offence from the back end when McAvoy and Gryz aren't on the ice. It also allows Lauzon to slot down and play with Clifton which is a pair that will work in a similar way to Montour and Carlo. It might allow Clifton to get up ice a bit more while Lauzon plays his usual steady stay at home game.

Giving up Debrusk and Vaak (along with picks) is a very easy decision for me. Bjork seems to have really found his groove lately playing with Coyle and his emergence has mad Debrusk more expendable. I have really liked how the Krejci line has looked with Ritchie and Smith so I slotted in Garland with Coyle and Bjork but things could easily change depending on chemistry. If Kase returns, it gives the Bruins lots of options up front. You could slide Bjork down to the 4th line with maybe Studnicka and Kuhlman/Frederic which is a line that has the skill to provide some 5 on 5 offence at times. Worst case scenario, it is 3 guys who have skill and speed but are also very responsible in their own end. I'm also not opposed at all to putting Zboril in this trade rather than Vaak. It comes down to whichever Arizona would prefer.

Is Montour even good on his off side? I would take a LHD first. A second is also too much for Montour.

From what I've read, he's played a lot on his off side so I imagine he's quite comfortable doing it. I was considering making it a third rounder but I think there will be a few teams in on him so it might take a second to get it done.

Don’t imagine Zona wants Debrusk for Garland. The whole point of moving him is to cut payroll next year as he is arb eligible. Adding Debrusk negates that, might as well just keep Garland. Lauko and a pick is more likely.

Unless they want to add some salary coming back in a bigger package like Scmaltz/Garland or OEL/Garland, i don’t see them taking salary back.
