He's not a total liability but he's not gonna win a Norris either. Totally fine as a second or third pairing right shot. Honestly he and Sami Vatanen are two peas in a pod I think. He's still the 4th best skater on the Sabres after Eichel, Cozens and Hall. With a steady defensive LHD he'll be at his best ie; when he played with Cam Fowler.

Agree almost completely. A team is going to take a chance on him, put him in a better situation and he is going to thrive IMO. His skating is ELITE.

I think he is more physical and well-rounded than Vatanen though.

Can send one of Ristolainen, Montour or Miller to Winnipeg.

I sent Miller in this post.

Do you think I overpaid Driedger and Garland? And I was trying to use the Sportsnet valuation as approximate for Ellis. They had a top tier prospect, a cap dump and a 3rd. So I went b-prospect a 2nd and a 3rd. I know it's not a typical move for a basement team to "buy" but typical hasn't been working in Buffalo.

Yeah overpaid, those could turn out to be the next Okposo contracts, best case scenario they almost live up to them. Not that they shouldn’t go after him, but Nash just extended him, there’s no reason for them to sell low

All fair evaluations. Driedger has been rock solid for a while and has the draft pedigree to be a real starter. Our goaltending in Buffalo has been so suspect that it can't hurt to actually take a shot. Maybe shorter term just in case but it's gonna be hard for Buffalo to draw players after this debacle of a season. Garland I have faith in 100%. He drives play which Okposo never did in NY. He is the one creating the opportunities and carrying the puck in Arizona. There's no reason the should stop with a change of scenery. Okposo was a 20 goal scorer by going to the net on a line with Tavares before both of them hit a brick wall skating-wise.
