interesting, as I believe that canucks fans would also reject. I think Rathbone has some serious potential, and being a Boston kid, it only makes sense if the Canucks are true to wanting to develop Juolevi instead

I agree to be honest. I love Rathbone's potential, but I just worry that he won't be able to reach it if we also try and develop Juolevi on LD. IMO there isn't space for both of them and hughes. I'd rather trade Juo tbh

Dream on about Ottawa taking Ericsson or Seattle taking Holtby. That's 10m in cap that remains in Vancouver.

I thought the Ferguson, Burke, Nonis years were disastrous for the Leafs at UFA frenzy time.
But Jim Benning just might have topped those guys by his consistently bad UFA signings. Canucks ownership should lock Benning up for the month of July (or whenever the UFA signing season starts)

As an Ottawa fan, you should take that and run. It doesn't makes sense if you are Vancouver, but it is Benning, so who knows.

Holtby won't be touched by Seattle, they have lots of good goalie options available to them.

I see a lot of people giving Petey 4 year contracts and I just think that's a really bad idea. Walks him right to UFA status in his prime, not only will he get an even bigger payday but it's at a time where you've forfeited all leverage, if he doesn't like the deal he can just go to the open market. Gotta go either a shorter bridge deal or long term, 4 years is a half measure that the team really can't afford.

Eriksson would cost at least a 2nd to dump, probably a little more. So Ottawa might do the trade but you wouldnt be getting anything back haha

Why do people want to trade Gaudette for Middlestadt?? Casey isn’t really that good. Gaudette is having a better season than him, and also did last year. No thanks

my issue is I see what he did at the world juniors a few years ago and just think what could be. But yes, you're probably right
