Sure, I'd love to talk players about it. Sadly it isn't actually a realistic possibility for a random fan to do, living several thousand miles to east from NA.

We come back to what I already said once:

Except I didn't give my opinion, so your point is invalid.

Not an opinion, per se...but you're selling your own assumption as a fact, which also isn't exactly valid.

I didn't make any assumptions, either. I just paraphrased an actual NHL player agent.

Ah, so that assumption of EDM becoming a very desirable location for UFAs if Barrie gets a big contract was from a player agent, not you? Gotcha.

Honestly it's not my place to judge assumptions from anyone, because everything I'm doing is assuming things based on what has happened in the past.

As I said, I was paraphrasing a player agent. He actually got a little angry at the suggestion that Edmonton was on UFA black lists, it was more than a passing reference.

Koskinen isn't a buyout candidate, you're overreacting to a loss where basically nobody played well.

This is something I really really really want to agree on because in principle yes he shouldn’t even be in the conversation of buyout however does it look like the coaching staff has any faith in him or trust? Since smith came back it’s like kosk isn’t even in the back seat now more like he’s left chasing the bus down the road. Perhaps there’s something im missing there but if they don’t trust him and won’t use unless absolutely needed then we can’t hold onto him for next year need two guys the coach’s feel comfortable with. Trade? I’m really not sure if there would be any market for him considering the way he’s being used his age and cap hit which I don’t personally think is bad unless refuse to play him fairly regularly. I get when smith first came back give kosk a good break well deserved after the work load faced early on but smith has been back more than long enough to adjust both in regular action. It’s far from ideal but it might be the best course of action just would complicate any thoughts of buying out Neal stacking that penalty will hurt is doable just very very very unfortunate route
