Description

I think the Leafs should stay the course and continue to draft good players/sign key free agents, and Campbell should be their starter of the future, saving a much needed 5 million of Andersen this offseason. They should probably find a backup for this playoff run. But if they were all in this is what I'd do. And yes I'm aware of all the players they'd have to cover for expansion draft. If they win a cup this year I think it would be worth it. The Nashville trade is a mix of what I think they'd want for Ekholm vs what a possible trade for him should realistically look like (ala Muzzin trade). Slightly over the cap, perhaps Columbus can retain some salary on Jenner.

Columbus gets more for Jenner if they were to trade. But having Jenner really hurts the Leafs cap next year. And Jenner is not a good centre...he's a LWer.
Yea Ekblom would help, but geez, then in the summer of 2022, two UFA LHDs. IMO a LHD is not necessary.

It absolutely is. Holl has been terrific all year. Never a weak link but the dummies will still say, "he isn't a household name!". And want a replacement. To a huge group on here, all defenceman from other teams are better than Holl, Dermott and most of our forward crew.
