This is an off-season move, BTW

IF it's an offseason move, it makes the trade pretty difficult, as both Koskinen and RNH are UFA's.

I should've clarified it more as in the off-season around the draft and not FA but Koskinen still has a year left on his contract. Nuge is a UFA, but in this scenario he signs an extension with the Sabres as part of the deal.
Dutchies liked this.

Also the trade happens after the expansion draft and before FA, so pretty much @ the entry draft.

I don't think anyone is going to touch James Neal. Plus, it is basically a bunch of spare parts for the Sabres two top prospects, and their best player. The only thing of value going back are the picks, and RNH.

We're giving up 3 of our best D prospects. They aren't spare parts lol. Neal is to make the money work, and if the Sabres buy him out, it's not going to affect their cap at all, really.

Trash for one of the best players in the league and a former 1st? You will need to overpay to get him not send your leftovers. LOL

I literally gave Broberg, Samorukov, and Jones; that's 3 of our top D prospects. Jones is already NHL ready. Samorukov can play next year, and Broberg is at max 1 year away. I then gave 2 first rounders back-to-back. Neal and Koskinen are in there for cap reasons, and it's not like they have long term contracts. Koskinen has just 1 year left, and Neal 2.
