Anaheim wont lose Fowler in the expansion draft, Bieksa will either waive his NMC or will be bought out either way Fowler will be protected.

Fowler, Lindholm, Vatanen, and Manson all need to be protected. Bieksa can waive his NMC but at the end of the day they would still have to find a suitor and taking a buy-out for a team who doesn't typically spend to the cap on a 35+ player contract is not ideal. I could see Anaheim cutting a deal with Las Vegas to avoid having to sell players for less than what they are worth. They are in one of the trickiest situations going the expansion draft.

Seems pretty reasonable here. My main concerns are that Fowler is having a good year while goose is not. Before the season you could argue goose was more valuable and fowler was trending downwards but now I think their stocks are going in the opposite directions. I think fowler may cost more now.

Also, can the rangers afford green even if we retain? Honestly asking here, I truly don't know.

Other than that the values may need a bit of tweaking here and there depending on who you ask but you have managed to find that small zone of players who are valuable, producing, and appealing to other teams. Glad to finally see a deadline plan that doesn't involve Ericsson, Kronwall, and Howard pipe dreams. Who would be on your expansion protection list with this group?

I'd have to go with 7-3-1 format. Zetterberg, Mantha, Tatar, Nielsen, Athanasiou, Sheahan (still think he can amount to something) and Glendening up front, DK, Fowler, Marchenko, and then Mrazek. Don't think LV would truly want to lock themselves into the Abdelkader, Helm, or Howard contract so essentially they're protected by Ken Holland signing them awful term.

I think they have good forwards that they'd rather keep than Fowler. Perry, Getz, Kesler, Silfverberg, Rackell, Cogliano, with Nyquist, and then Lindholm, Vatanen, and Manson on D if they move Bieksa is a solid protection list IMO.

What Kenny does with the expansion draft and what needs to be done are worlds apart, Hank does not need to be protected imo but probably will be so there are no hurt feelings. IF this scenario played out like this then I would look at protecting Mantha, AA, Nielsen, Tatar, DDK, Fowler, then pick two of Ouellet, Sproul, and Marchenko. Heck DDK probably does not even protection because of that contract. Completely doubt Luke needs protection with his cap hit tripling starting next year either, $ 1.8 million for him is not going to be good at all.
